Google has introduced a series of back-to-school features for Gemini Notebook, including lecture recording, interactive learning overview, and short video summaries, further enhancing its AI learning scenarios for students. The recording feature is now available on the Gemini Notebook iOS and Android apps, allowing users to record lectures or ideas and automatically generate transcriptions, which are stored together with user-uploaded reference materials.
Regarding learning features, the interactive learning overview organizes original materials into study guides and provides outputs from Studio, summaries, mind maps, quizzes, and flashcards; the "short video summary" explains formulas and complex concepts in 60 seconds through educational animations and voice explanations, supporting over 80 languages and allowing sharing.
The exam preparation tool, launched last September, has also added short answer questions, multiple-choice questions, and fill-in-the-blank questions. Users aged 18 and above can interact in real-time with their notebook on their mobile devices. This feature supports nearly 100 languages and allows users to ask questions or interrupt AI responses at any time.
Gemini Notebook was originally called NotebookLM. Google completed a brand update in July this year and launched iOS, Android apps, and an independent secure cloud container. Users can also directly write and run code in the notebook, performing data analysis and visualization on large spreadsheets and other uploaded materials.
