Unitree Technology has released the new Dex5-S dexterous hand. Each hand has 22 degrees of freedom and is designed with a 1:1 size to a human hand. The starting price is 39,900 yuan, and the Dex5-S Pro version is also available simultaneously. The product dimensions are 102×187×26mm, weighing 620g, with an aluminum alloy casing. In terms of degrees of freedom, the thumb and pinky each have 5, while the index, middle, and ring fingers each have 4, with the pinky adding a new Roll degree of freedom.
The Dex5-S is equipped with 22 motors, all supporting direct drive and reverse drive, and uses dual encoder control. The single hand load is 1kg, with a maximum load of 2kg, and peak power of 200W. The product supports wide voltage power supply from 15V to 65V, and is equipped with three communication interfaces: gigabit Ethernet, USB, and high-speed 485. The highest communication baud rate is 6Mbps, and the control frequency for T1s Ethernet/USB reaches 1000Hz.
In terms of visual and connectivity capabilities, the palm camera can be directly connected to the dexterous hand under gigabit Ethernet configuration, without the need for additional external wiring. The combination of high degrees of freedom, high control frequency, and visual interface will further enhance the application capabilities of the dexterous hand in robotic fine operations and embodied intelligence scenarios.
