Although AI pendant hardware like Friend has caused some aesthetic fatigue in the consumer market, Meta released its new AI wearable device—Muse Charm—during the closing segment of its annual Connect conference this Wednesday, under the "One more thing" format. The device aims to provide users with a new way to stay connected to the recently popular personal AI agent Muse, without relying on a phone interface.
In terms of product form and interaction design, Muse Charm is designed as a keychain-shaped totem device that is highly portable and features a modern version of an "electronic pet (Tamagotchi)" style. The device includes a small display specifically for showing a cute digital virtual character named Jolly.
The operation logic has been drastically simplified. Users do not need to unlock their phones or open any applications; they can simply touch the fingerprint sensor at the corner of the device to activate real-time voice and authorize the AI to perform complex tasks. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg emphasized that when users are not wearing smart glasses, Muse Charm is currently the fastest way to activate a personal AI assistant and sense the surrounding environment.
At present, the internal component layout of the product is still in the final debugging stage and is not yet ready for shipping. However, Meta has promised that Muse Charm will be fully prepared and launched in the market before the holiday season this December.
