At the recent "Gemini at Work 2026" conference, Google Cloud officially announced the launch of a new Gemini Agent for global enterprise customers. Officially positioned as a "general-purpose work agent," this product aims to completely transform the way businesses collaborate and work through a single interface.

In terms of core features, this new Gemini Agent breaks the limitations of traditional AI tools that can only perform simple Q&A. Users need only input a macro-level work goal in a single interface, and it can autonomously handle a wide range of complex tasks including Q&A, knowledge accumulation, content creation, code writing, and execution. At the same time, it can deeply call various internal tools and data within the enterprise, achieving full-process automation from goal planning, tool invocation, to system integration, and finally delivering the finished product directly to Gmail, Docs, or various development tools.

Besides its strong general execution capabilities, the newly released Gemini Agent has also shown great commitment in terms of ecosystem compatibility and industry-specific applications:

Ecosystem-wide connectivity: This product not only fully supports Gemini Enterprise, Workspace, and various third-party services, but also introduces a dynamic model selection mechanism for the first time. Enterprise users can not only call Google's own models, but also flexibly switch between different models such as Anthropic's Claude.

Industry-specific evolution: Google Cloud simultaneously launched new skills for data analysis, data engineering, and machine learning, and for the first time introduced deeply customized versions tailored for the financial services and legal industries.
