OpenAI is integrating GPT-6 with intelligent UI into the everyday chats of ChatGPT. When users ask a question, they no longer receive just text, but also clickable charts, forms, and interactive widgets, all within the conversation without having to leave the chat window to open other software. For the first time, the model has "hands and feet," turning answers directly into interactive interfaces.
This change disrupts an established product logic that has been in place for years. Previously, mobile internet products organized their features around fixed application interfaces—you would go to a finance app to track expenses, or a shopping tool to compare prices. Intelligent UI breaks this chain: functions are no longer hidden within independent apps, but instead emerge on demand from the conversation. As a result, large models extend beyond being mere information providers, becoming entry points for task interaction. This directly impacts single-function tools and lifestyle apps, rewriting the way users access capabilities and shifting competition between apps from interface battles to deeper levels like data, content, and services.
Following this trend, the previously popular "handmade AI app" sector in China may be bypassed entirely. Platforms that started by wrapping a large model in a shell and creating a small tool are now forced to transform. The mode of content platforms using content processing tools will also face pressure from traffic diversion. On the contrary, super apps like WeChat and Douyin, which hold mature ecosystems and distribution channels, can leverage their moats to develop differentiated competitiveness—others need to build an entry point from scratch, while they have already integrated the entry point and scenario together.
