On October 29, Anthropic rolled out a wave of mobile app updates on X, bringing Claude into more use cases. The most eye-catching part is that voice mode on iPhone is now officially integrated with Apple CarPlay. Now, once drivers get in the car, they can talk directly to the AI without taking their hands off the wheel—checking routes, looking up information, and organizing their thoughts on the commute, all by voice.

Claude on the Steering Wheel
This update covers iPhone, iPad, Android, Chromebook, web, and desktop, and the in-car scenario is clearly the most imaginative landing spot. For Anthropic, extending voice to the driver's seat means staking out a high-frequency, hands-busy interaction channel beyond Siri and Google Assistant. It also teased that iPhone and iPad will soon support pull-down search, making it possible to quickly search through past conversations and projects, jump into settings, and take direct action.
Mobile Gets a Major Release
The tablet and foldable experience is also moving closer to desktop: on iPad and iPhone Duo, content generated by Claude no longer covers the chat window. It can be shown side by side and switched to full screen as needed, so users can chat while viewing documents, code, or designs; on large-screen and foldable devices, Android adds an adjustable sidebar, trackpad right-click, and the same shortcuts as Desktop. For accounts, iOS and Android support multi-account sign-in and one-tap switching. Language and voice are expanding together: 24 new languages have been added, bringing the total to 33; voice responses are faster, recognition is more accurate in noisy or quiet environments, non-English speech sounds more natural, and more Android devices are covered.
