On November 5, Qwen AI Office upgraded its in-app editing and custom template capabilities, covering Word, Excel, and PPT. Users can generate files according to their organization's or personal formatting requirements and edit content and styles directly within Qwen, reducing cross-app operations and formatting rework. These features are currently being rolled out gradually.

Currently, Qwen supports direct in-app editing of three commonly used file types—Word, Excel, and PPT. Users can not only modify text, tables, and images, but also adjust styles such as font, font size, and color, bringing the experience even closer to desktop Office software.
Among these, AI PPT supports partial regeneration. After selecting a specific image, users can suggest changes through chat without regenerating the entire presentation.

This upgrade also enhances custom template capabilities. Users can upload their own templates and have Qwen generate corresponding content based on the template while preserving key design elements such as page layout, images, and logos. After generation, users only need to adjust specific content and can then use it directly.
Take a rental agreement as an example. Users can upload a public rental template provided by a local public service platform, provide the agreed lease term, rent, and payment method, and have Qwen fill them in directly in the corresponding blanks, retaining the original page layout, fonts, and paragraph formatting. After generation, they can directly check and edit details without copying content paragraph by paragraph and reformatting it.

When creating PPTs for book sharing, event introductions, or educational content, users can also upload commonly used blank templates and provide requirements such as the topic and content outline, allowing Qwen to generate complete content based on the original layout. If one of the images does not meet expectations, simply select the image and specify the changes needed to regenerate it locally, without adjusting the entire PPT.
