Apple has taken a key step toward merging smart home technology with artificial intelligence. According to the latest code-level leak, Apple plans to add support for mainstream third-party AI chatbots such as ChatGPT and Claude to HomeView, the smart home hub device it just released this October, in the upcoming iOS 27.3 beta.

Code Confirmation: Conversational Apps Category Officially Goes Live

Earlier this month, industry leaker pdfu first discovered an as-yet-unactivated ConversationalApps flag in the system and speculated based on it that third-party AI apps might eventually be able to connect to HomeView. As the iOS 27.3 beta progresses, that speculation has finally been fully confirmed at the code level.

The leak shows that PebblePlay, a bridge tool for HomeView's in-car connectivity, has officially gained support for the Conversational Apps (conversational applications) category in iOS 27.3. Similar to how Apple CarPlay works, Apple uses these types of flags to strictly regulate and determine which categories of third-party apps a device is allowed to run.

Feature Expansion: From Smart Display to All-Around Monitoring Hub

As Apple's first smart home hub device, unveiled with much fanfare on October 13, 2026, HomeView is positioned as a smart display built for shared family use. It integrates multiple core functions, including smart home control, music playback, video calls, and home monitoring.

In addition to soon welcoming deep integration with third-party AI chatbots, recently exposed code clues also suggest that HomeView may even be able to double as a HomeKit security camera in the future, further expanding its application boundaries and practical value in the whole-home smart ecosystem.
