On August 20th, the WeCom team held the 2025 product launch event, officially releasing WeCom 5.0. The new version fully integrates AI capabilities, introducing three core AI features: intelligent search, intelligent summary, and smart robot. AI capabilities have been integrated into more office modules, creating an integrated office collaboration experience, helping enterprises achieve social collaboration.

At the event, Huang Tieming, Vice President of Tencent and head of WeCom, released the latest data for WeCom. As of now, WeCom has connected over 14 million real enterprises and organizations. Every day, over 750 million WeChat users are served through WeCom. In the past year, WeCom completed 12 version updates, launching more than 1,700 feature updates. It continuously improves in enterprise communication, collaboration, and office work, striving to make office work more user-friendly. "We hope that through WeCom, we can support enterprises to better connect various resources along the supply chain, helping enterprises create greater value in social collaboration," said Huang.

Three Major AI Capabilities Launch, Making Smart Office Accessible

WeCom 5.0 introduces three core AI functions: intelligent search, intelligent summary, and smart robot. These AI applications cover all aspects of enterprise office work, helping users solve the most common problems in office scenarios. AI is no longer just "sound impressive" but is truly accessible and ready to use immediately.

Search is a very frequent demand in office scenarios. Users often face issues such as memory loss, vague keywords, large information volume, and scattered information, which result in low search efficiency and accuracy. The latest intelligent search function of WeCom uses AI to enable natural language questions, automatically connecting chats, documents, meetings, and emails. It accurately locates the final version of the document and automatically summarizes data, making the search process more efficient and accurate.

To address the pain point of managers who spend too much time on hierarchical reporting and suffer from information distortion, WeCom 5.0 introduces the intelligent summary function. This function automatically integrates group chats, documents, and meeting records to generate project progress reports, skipping intermediate steps and making project summaries more efficient. Additionally, the intelligent summary function does not require users to manually organize materials. AI automatically extracts objective conclusions based on the natural workflow, making summaries more objective and truthful, thus helping managers make faster and more accurate decisions.

When users encounter problems at work and don't know whom to ask, they can ask their "AI colleague." Through the "smart robot" feature in WeCom, companies can add business SOPs, regulations, product introductions, and customer cases, allowing AI to learn and provide zero-barrier Q&A. WeCom also opens up API interfaces for smart robots, enabling companies to integrate their business systems with smart robots, making it easier for employees to access company information, such as business, policies, and procedures, thereby achieving efficient office work.

In addition, all data used by WeCom's AI features remains within the enterprise and supports local private deployment, ensuring full control over enterprise information assets.

AI-Powered "Integrated Office Experience" Helps Enterprises Achieve "Internal and External Excellence"

This update integrates AI capabilities deeply into more office modules, helping enterprises build a smarter and more efficient social collaboration ecosystem.

The new intelligent table function not only automatically tracks task progress, reminds of overdue tasks, and generates visual data dashboards, but also uses AI to offer more automated intelligent features. For example, in the e-commerce industry, the intelligent table can automatically analyze customer reviews, categorize them with tags, and process thousands of reviews in three minutes. For manufacturing industries that place high importance on production safety, companies can use the intelligent table to implement automated inspection functions. Employees just need to take photos during inspections and upload them, and the intelligent table can automatically determine whether workers are wearing safety helmets according to the specifications.

Additionally, as the only intelligent table that connects with WeChat, enterprises can manage WeChat clients more easily through WeCom's intelligent tables. Each time a new client is added on WeChat, the intelligent table can automatically create a file, extract information, follow up, and summarize, analyzing purchase intent. It can also help enterprises connect internal and external collaboration, truly realizing one table managing projects, business, and clients, further improving service quality and efficiency for enterprises.

Email, a long-standing "essential" in enterprise office, has also seen new changes in WeCom 5.0. WeCom leverages Tencent's 23-year email security foundation, combined with AI capabilities, to redefine the email collaboration experience. First, AI writing emails automatically integrates chats and meeting records to generate emails, supports English grammar correction, and ensures data security throughout the process, making email content more suitable for your business needs, and making writing emails easier and simpler. By integrating with the WeCom address book, you can send emails directly using employee names, or select a department for mass mailing, ensuring zero errors in addresses without the need to frequently switch between apps, achieving seamless integration of office work.

In scenarios where WeCom connects with WeChat, WeCom 5.0 has introduced and optimized features such as intelligent service summary and enterprise business cards, helping enterprises better connect and manage customers, providing more valuable services to customers.

For state-owned enterprises, financial institutions, and technology-oriented enterprises that focus on data compliance and security, WeCom has launched a private deployment version that allows data and services to be deployed on self-owned servers. This version has already covered thousands of "state-owned" and high-tech enterprises. The private deployment version can also provide targeted security management strategies based on different employee roles, devices used, and network environments, maximizing satisfaction of enterprise security needs.

Ecosystem Expansion Abroad, Letting Connections Create Greater Value

With more Chinese enterprises expanding their businesses globally, WeCom has adapted to new functions for enterprise expansion and created a dedicated version for overseas use—WeCom. It fully supports internationalization, helping enterprises solve various challenges in their overseas operations through its mature ecosystem, enabling efficient cross-border collaboration and management.

The core of this WeCom upgrade is to deeply integrate AI into workflows, from an integrated office experience to connecting WeChat users to keep internal production aligned with external markets, and social collaboration to enable efficient resource flow. WeCom truly achieves connecting internal and external information and resources without changing habits or increasing costs, enabling efficient social collaboration and creating deeper value.

The WeCom team stated that in the future, WeCom will continue to take "connection" as its cornerstone, driving enterprises to shift from pursuing "broad reach" to deepening "service depth," creating irreplaceable warmth and value in every customer interaction.
