SpaceX Becomes a Key Driver of Open-Source AI with a $6.3 Billion Super Order, Holding the Legacy of xAI's Computing Power
Reflection AI, an open-source AI lab, signed a $6.3B compute lease with SpaceX. From July 2026 to 2029, it pays $150M/month for instant access to the Colossus2 data center in Tennessee, using Nvidia GB300 chips. The center, formerly xAI's, is now run by SpaceX.
