Report: Approximately 2% to 5% of Jobs Are at Risk of Being Fully Automated by AI
A joint report by the International Labour Organization and the World Bank reveals the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the labor market in Latin America and the Caribbean. The report indicates that approximately 2% to 5% of jobs in the region are at risk of full automation, while 26% to 38% of positions may be affected by generative AI. Women and younger employees in the formal sector face a higher risk of being replaced by AI, exacerbating inequality in the world's most unequal regions. While gaps in digital infrastructure limit the impact of AI, the report also shows that AI could improve productivity in approximately 8% to 14% of jobs.
