California New Law: Chatbots Must Clearly Inform Users That They Are AI
California passes the first national chatbot safety law SB243, requiring transparency and safety in user interactions to protect consumer rights. The bill was signed by the governor Newsom, proposed by senator Padilla, aiming to address the risks brought by AI development.
