Former Apple AI Chief Giannandrea Confirms Departure, AI Strategy Faces Challenges
The former head of AI at Apple, John Giannandrea, will leave after April 15. He joined Apple in 2018 from Google and led the Apple Intelligence project. Since March 2025, his responsibilities have been significantly reduced, and the departure is mainly due to Apple's AI progress not meeting expectations, including poor performance of the upgraded Siri.
