Google recently announced that the AI browser assistant "Gemini in Chrome" is now fully available to Workspace users. This new feature comes at a time when Google has launched an unprecedented Chrome update, bringing many highly anticipated AI features. This undoubtedly adds a new dimension to the browsing experience for Chrome users.

"Gemini in Chrome" is similar to the web and mobile versions of the Gemini chatbot. Users can obtain instant answers, in-depth information analysis, and engage in interactive conversations with this assistant. More interestingly, users can share up to 10 open tabs in the browser with Gemini, helping it better understand the current usage scenario. By simply clicking the "Ask Gemini" button in the top-right corner of the browser window, users can ask questions to the assistant at any time. As long as the sharing feature is not turned off, the Gemini assistant will refer to the current Chrome tab information in real-time, ensuring more accurate service.

Currently, this feature is available to Workspace users who use Mac, Windows, or iOS devices, provided they have access to the core services of the Gemini app. According to Google, users aged 18 and above in the United States who have their language set to English can enjoy this new feature. The assistant will also be gradually rolled out to multiple Workspace plans, including Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise series, Education series, and others. However, it should be noted that not all plans support the core services of the Gemini app.

To protect user privacy, the Gemini in Chrome feature will be disabled for customers who have signed a HIPAA business partner agreement. Although this assistant is enabled by default, Workspace administrators can choose to turn it off at specific domain, organizational unit, or user group levels. Additionally, the usage data will be combined with the data from the Gemini app for display, making it easier for administrators to view and analyze in the management console.

The launch of the Gemini in Chrome feature marks another important step in Google's efforts to advance AI upgrades across its products. This new assistant will be gradually introduced to regular users in the future, further enhancing everyone's browsing experience. With the continuous advancement of AI technology, we believe our online world will become smarter and more convenient.
