On June 10, at the 9th Digital Finance and Financial Security Conference in 2025, Ant Tech announced the comprehensive upgrade of the Taurus Lab. Originally named the "Digital Identity Security Lab," it has been upgraded to the "Artificial Intelligence + Industrial Innovation" Lab. The lab will focus on key technological breakthroughs in the application of AI large models in industrial scenarios. By fostering an integrated innovation ecosystem of "industry-research-production-application," it aims to promote deep integration between AI technology innovation and industry.
The event was attended by Zhou Yanli, a member of the 13th National Committee of the CPPCC and former deputy secretary-general and vice chairman of the China Insurance Regulatory Commission, Shen Changxiang, a professor at Beijing University of Technology and an expert in information systems engineering, Wang Rufang, a national committee member of the Jiusan Society Central Committee and vice president of the Jiusan Society Central Committee, Yang Ying, director of the Financial Services Bureau of Haidian District, Beijing, Liu Yong, dean of the Zhongguan Village Internet Finance Research Institute and secretary general of the Zhongguan Village Financial Technology Industry Development Alliance, as well as Wang Wei, CTO of Ant Tech and vice president of Ant Group, who jointly unveiled the laboratory's upgrade ceremony.
This year, Ant Tech has continued to advance its AI strategy and released enterprise-level large model products and services targeting financial and new energy industry scenarios. From a technical perspective, Ant Tech's trusted intelligent agent technology foundation ensures reliable, controllable, and optimizable enterprise-level intelligent agent applications. Previously, Ant Tech also launched the Agentar enterprise-level financial intelligent agent platform, providing over a hundred core financial MCP services, helping financial institutions efficiently build safe and trusted intelligent agent applications without coding. For the new energy sector, Ant Tech introduced the EnergyTS energy and power time series large model, accurately predicting photovoltaic and wind power generation through AI technology, with prediction accuracy surpassing that of Amazon and Google.
In order to continue promoting the deep integration of AI large model technology and industry, the upgraded Taurus Lab will focus on four key research directions around the foundational support and industrial application of AI large model development: AI + Data, AI + Security, AI + Finance, and AI + Embodied Intelligence. The lab will collaborate with top universities such as Tsinghua University and research institutes like the Zhongguan Village Internet Finance Research Institute. Through special technical research and frontier topic studies, it will smooth out the entire chain from "technology R&D - outcome transformation - industry application," accelerating the deep integration of AI technology innovation and industry, and setting benchmarks for innovation in the era of intelligence.
Ant Tech CTO Wang Wei stated, "We firmly believe that in the era of large models, AI technology innovation is the core driving force behind enterprise intelligent upgrades. The Taurus Lab is committed to becoming an engine for industrial AI technology innovation, continuously deepening cooperation in industry-research-production among universities, research institutions, and enterprises, breaking through technical bottlenecks for large-scale AI applications, and promoting the value implementation of large model technology in industry scenarios."
Public information shows that Ant Tech's Taurus Lab, under its subsidiary, has been the only direct authorized biometric security detection and certification lab globally by Google for multiple consecutive years. It has also participated in the formulation of more than ten global standards and national standards, including IEEE's "Performance Evaluation of Biometrics: Face Recognition." Multiple technical papers have been accepted into top global AI academic conferences such as CVPR, AAAI, and ECCV. One of its projects, "Intelligent Perception and Understanding of Unconstrained Human Targets," won the Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Natural Science First Prize.
