Repello AI, a startup focused on generative AI security, has successfully raised $1.225 million in seed funding to further its mission of protecting generative AI systems from emerging threats. The company was founded in 2024 and is dedicated to building continuous AI red team testing and security solutions, featuring two flagship products: ARTEMIS and Repello Guard.
This round of financing has received support from multiple investment institutions, including Venture Highway (merged into General Catalyst), pi Ventures, Entrepreneur First, as well as some renowned angel investors such as Charles Songhurst, member of the Meta board, Vivek Raghavan, CEO of Sarvam AI, and Satya Vyas, CEO of Project Hero.
The core product of Repello AI, ARTEMIS (Automatic Red Team Testing Engine), can proactively scan for vulnerabilities in generative AI models across multiple modalities such as text, images, and audio. Meanwhile, Repello Guard is a real-time security tool that filters unsafe outputs, marking risks like prompt injection, competitor mentions, and prompt leakage in real time.
Aryaman Behera, co-founder and CEO of Repello AI, stated: "We are at a critical moment where the application of AI is outpacing the advancement of security solutions." He pointed out that companies often deploy generative AI across various functional departments but rely on outdated security strategies. Behera used an example of a car dealer chatbot authorizing a $1 transaction incorrectly to emphasize that AI security cannot be treated as an afterthought. He said: "For generative AI applications, the lack of security measures is like having a house without doors."
Naman Mishra, co-founder and CTO of Repello AI, mentioned that the design of ARTEMIS transforms red team testing from a quarterly corporate task into an essential part of the AI development deployment process. He emphasized that the goal of ARTEMIS and Repello Guard is to ensure fast and secure product delivery.
Currently, Repello AI has actively deployed its solutions with companies like Groww and PhysicsWallah and is conducting proof-of-concept tests in regions such as the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. Although specific revenue data has not been disclosed, this round of funding will be used to expand products, enhance brand credibility, increase market promotion, and establish global partnerships.
