Microsoft is testing a major update for Windows 11, introducing an AI-powered intelligent file search feature for the Copilot app. This feature is currently available for testing to Windows Insiders using Copilot Plus PCs, significantly enhancing the user's file retrieval experience.

Natural Language File Search

Differing from traditional search methods based on file names, open time, or file types, the new feature allows users to search using more natural and descriptive language. For example, users can directly input "Find files containing a chicken taco recipe," and Copilot will perform intelligent matching and retrieval based on the file content.

This feature builds upon Microsoft's AI-powered Windows search function introduced earlier this year on Copilot Plus PCs, further expanding the application of AI in the field of file management.

New Family Experience Interface

In addition to the search feature upgrade, Microsoft is also testing a new Copilot family experience interface. This interface will display the user's recently used applications, files, and conversation records, providing a more personalized experience.

In the "Get Guidance Help" section, when a user selects an application, Copilot will automatically start the Vision session feature, scan all content on the screen, and provide users with guidance on how to use the application.

Convenient Image Analysis Feature

The new version also supports users directly selecting recent photos from the left side of the screen and uploading them to Copilot. Then, users can ask the AI assistant for information about the image, achieving a smoother multimedia content interaction.

Scope of Promotion and Availability

These new features are being rolled out to all Insider channels via the Microsoft Store, marking Microsoft's continued progress in integrating AI assistants. For Copilot Plus PC users, these features will significantly improve daily office work and file management efficiency.

Microsoft's latest update demonstrates the deep integration of AI technology at the operating system level, indicating that future Windows systems will be more intelligent and user-friendly.
