According to the latest "Top 100 Generative AI Consumer Applications Report" released by venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), the AI application market is undergoing a new wave of changes. Although Google's Gemini still lags behind ChatGPT, its products are gradually closing the gap in web and mobile applications, while Chinese companies dominate in the mobile domain.

Compared to the version from March 2025, this report only added 11 web applications, a decrease from 17 in the previous edition, indicating that the AI application market is becoming more stable. In the mobile application category, 14 new applications were added, partly due to app stores increasing regulation on "ChatGPT clones." The report ranks the top 50 AI-native web products based on monthly unique visits (from Similarweb), and also counts the top 50 AI-native mobile applications based on monthly active users (from Sensor Tower).

In web applications, ChatGPT still leads with unique monthly visits, followed closely by Google's Gemini and Deepseek. In mobile applications, ChatGPT also tops the list, with Gemini, AI Gallery, and Doubao ranking in the top five.

Google's Gemini family has for the first time occupied four positions in the web rankings, with its monthly visits now approximately 12% of ChatGPT's. In the mobile domain, Gemini's monthly active users have nearly reached half of ChatGPT's. Gemini has a particularly strong user base on the Android system, with about 90% of its users coming from Android, compared to 60% for ChatGPT. This gives Google a clear advantage on the Android platform, where users can easily launch Gemini by long-pressing a button.

Grok's competitiveness is also rising rapidly, with the app now reaching 20 million users. After launching Grok4 and introducing an AI companion avatar, Grok saw significant growth, with its monthly active users jumping from 3 million to 4 million. In contrast, Meta AI's growth has been relatively slow, currently ranked 46th on the web but not making it to the mobile rankings.

In the Chinese market, three Chinese companies occupy positions in the top 20 web applications: Quark by Alibaba, Doubao by ByteDance, and Kimi by Moonshot AI. Chinese companies have gained a market advantage through their large domestic user base and strict regulatory policies.
