Recently, the enterprise AI and software company DevRev officially launched a conversational AI product called "Computer." This product is designed to provide enterprise employees with a comprehensive interface to access core data and schedules, and to perform related tasks on their behalf. The product is currently in the testing phase and is scheduled to be released to the public in late 2025. Interested users can join the waiting list through the DevRev official website.
DevRev positions "Computer" as a tool that goes beyond simple chatbots or search interfaces. Unlike traditional tools that can only read and summarize information, Computer can create, update, and execute tasks, and integrates with customer relationship management (CRM) platforms, product backlogs, documents, and communication tools. This design aims to achieve unified data management and support efficient business operations.
DevRev's CEO Dheeraj Pandey stated that AI needs to go beyond passive searching and must have the ability to update, execute workflows, and change data, rather than just retrieving information. Therefore, the core goal of Computer is to unify data and actively support business processes, rather than merely reporting on them.
The company plans to launch Computer using a usage-based pricing model, aiming to benefit startups through a freemium-like approach, while offering extended features for large enterprises. The architecture of Computer relies on edge computing and micro-leasing to reduce costs and avoid relying solely on expensive custom enterprise transactions.
DevRev was founded in 2020 by Pandey and Agarwal, who previously worked at Nutanix, and is based in Palo Alto, California. DevRev's goal is to break down data silos through its "Enterprise Knowledge Graph," promoting collaboration between customer support, product management, revenue operations, and engineering.
The launch of Computer aims to address the structural fragmentation present in enterprise software. Over the past two decades, specialized tools were often designed for a single department, leading to a lack of interaction between systems and affecting execution efficiency. Computer aims to unify structured and unstructured data, providing AI with a comprehensive business context.
Through its proprietary technologies "Computer Memory" and "Computer Airsync," Computer can synchronize data in real time while maintaining permissions and compliance. This enables Computer to work efficiently with existing systems, providing more efficient support for businesses.
In testing, multiple well-known global companies, such as Velocity Global, Bolt, and Bill.com, have tested Computer and its underlying technology. Feedback shows that Computer significantly improves efficiency, such as automatically resolving 85% of support tickets and reducing support costs by 50%.
