[AIbase Report] Meta announced on Monday that it will introduce an artificial intelligence assistant for its Facebook Dating, aiming to help users find more accurate matches and optimize their profiles. This move marks an intensification of competition in the field of artificial intelligence among mainstream dating applications.
This chatbot can provide smart recommendations based on users' specific needs, such as finding "women in the tech industry in Brooklyn." Additionally, the AI assistant can help users improve their profiles to increase their attractiveness. To address the issue of "swipe fatigue," Meta will also launch a new feature called Meet Cute (romantic encounter), which will recommend one "surprise match" per week to users through algorithms.
Although Facebook Dating has become an important dating platform, especially popular among young users aged 18 to 29, its scale still lags behind its competitors. According to reports, hundreds of thousands of users in this age group create profiles each month, while Tinder has about 50 million daily active users, and Hinge has 10 million daily active users.
However, integrating AI features into dating apps has become an industry trend. Besides Meta, major players like Match Group and Bumble have also made significant investments.
Match Group: owns well-known apps such as Tinder and Hinge. Last year, it partnered with OpenAI and invested over $20 million in AI research. It has already launched several features, including Tinder's AI photo selection tool and Hinge's AI prompt reply optimization feature.
Bumble: has also added similar AI features. Its founder Whitney Wolfe Heidt proposed a controversial idea: in the future, users' personal "AI concierges" could date other users' AIs first to predict compatibility.
