This will bring consumers a smarter and more efficient shopping experience, while helping merchants achieve growth and cost efficiency.

At the Taobao Double 11 press conference, Ke Fu, President of the Search and Recommendation Intelligence of Alibaba's China E-commerce Business Group, said: “The standard for evaluating the application of AI in Taobao is whether it is useful. We hope that AI can truly solve consumers' shopping pain points and help merchants achieve business growth.” According to the introduction, the platform uses AI to understand and organize 2 billion products at the semantic level, significantly improving the efficiency of traffic matching: the relevance of complex semantic search has increased by 20 percentage points, the click-through rate of recommendation information flow has increased by 10%, and the ROI of merchant ads has increased by 12%.

This year, Taobao also launched six AI shopping assistant applications for consumers, comprehensively enhancing the shopping experience. Among them, "AI Universal Search" can accurately understand complex semantic expressions and automatically generate shopping guides; "AI Help Me Choose" can guide users to quickly filter products through smart conversation; "Take a Photo to Find Products" has been upgraded to multimodal AI search, achieving price comparison and similar recommendations; the Taobao home page search generates "product lists" based on online reputation and can also answer shopping questions in real time; the "AI Try-on" feature allows users to virtually try on their favorite outfits with one click; and each consumer will receive a personalized "AI List" to achieve a tailored shopping experience.

On the merchant side, Taobao fully empowers e-commerce operations through AI technology, building an intelligent "AI Operations Team". Data shows that AI art designers can generate 200 million images and 5 million videos per month, increasing product click-through rates by 10%; AI data analysis has generated over 10 million business reports, receiving 85% positive feedback from merchants; AI customer service "Dianxiaomi 5.0" helps merchants reduce costs by 20 million yuan per day, bringing an increase in GMV of 19.12 million yuan.
