Google Labs has quietly launched a new AI email assistant called "CC" today (experimental feature). It is not just a smart reply for Gmail, but a "versatile life assistant" that can freely navigate between Gmail, Calendar, and Drive.

Automatically writes you a "life reminder letter" every morning

The most eye-catching feature of CC is: every morning, when you open your Gmail inbox, you will see a personalized morning email from CC, whose content is truly "understands you to the core":

- There is an important meeting at 10:00 AM today

- You need to reply to an email from a client in the afternoon

- The project report in Drive still needs your signature

- The email you didn't reply to yesterday has already been organized, and it's ready to be replied to anytime...

A single email handles all your tasks for the day, no longer needing to open dozens of tabs, go through notes, or switch apps back and forth.

Core capabilities: Deep understanding across applications and proactive reminders

- Automatically organize tasks: Scans calendar events, unread emails, and changes in Drive files in real time, accurately identifying "the most important things today".

- Proactive reminders: It sends you a "daily schedule summary" without you having to ask.

- One-click replies and actions: Provides "quick reply" buttons directly in emails, or simply reply to CC to have it draft, send, or schedule meetings for you.

- Zero learning curve: No need for additional apps or model training, just using Gmail can give you the service of "a personal assistant".

One sentence summary of CC's positioning

"It is not an AI that helps you write emails, but an AI that helps you live a better day."

Current status

Currently, CC is an experimental project on Google Labs, and some users have already been given access to the internal test. Google stated that it will gradually expand the testing scope based on feedback and may integrate it into the official features of Gmail in the future.

AIbase comments

At a time when AI assistants are becoming increasingly common, CC truly achieves "less is more"—it has no flashy interface, only the most familiar mailbox, and organizes your life neatly every day. This "subtle and unobtrusive" experience might be the true AI application that changes daily user habits.
