Microsoft's recent internal marketing document shows the company is confident in the performance of its top-tier Copilot+ laptop, directly targeting Apple's M4 chip MacBook Air. Microsoft claims that in specific multi-core performance tests, the high-end AI laptop has already surpassed Apple's similar products.

In specific performance comparisons, Microsoft cited internal benchmark data from June to September 2025. The results showed that in the Cinebench 2024 multi-core test, the top-tier Copilot+ laptop not only outperformed the M4 MacBook Air but also ran 5 times faster than a five-year-old Windows device. Microsoft believes this marks a significant breakthrough in the integration of hardware performance and AI computing power within the Windows ecosystem.

Regarding AI task processing capabilities, Microsoft stated that the Copilot+ laptop shows significant improvements over earlier Windows 11 AI devices. This is mainly attributed to the leap in hardware specifications: the neural network processing unit (NPU) power of the new generation of devices has increased from 15 TOPS to about 40 TOPS, making the speed of AI-related tasks 3.7 times faster. In addition, battery life has also become a key feature in the promotion. Microsoft claims that the battery life for web browsing and local video playback can reach up to 19 hours and 27 hours, respectively.

Aside from core upgrades, Microsoft emphasized the central role of the dedicated Copilot button in enhancing user productivity. This button, combined with NPU power, helps students quickly summarize articles, assist professionals in drafting emails, and help ordinary users manage their schedules. However, Microsoft has not yet publicly released complete testing environments or specific configuration details. Some industry analysts believe that while this comparison demonstrates technological progress, more transparent data is still needed to support it.
