According to Lei Feng Net, Li Auto has recently initiated a new round of restructuring of its R&D system, dividing the architecture into three teams: Basic Model, Software Core, and Hardware Core, aiming to cope with industry competition through resource integration.

The focus of this restructuring is on the intelligent driving team. The former Senior Vice President of Intelligent Driving, Liang Canpeng, has been transferred to lead the Hardware Core, focusing on robot research and no longer responsible for intelligent driving business; the functions of intelligent driving R&D have been integrated into the Software Core team led by Vice President Gou Xiaofei, achieving unified management of cockpit and intelligent driving software. Both report to President Ma Donghui. In addition, Zhan Kun leads the Basic Model team, reporting to CTO Xie Yan, to promote the integration of general algorithms and chips.
Founder Li Xiang pointed out that this adjustment is to cope with the challenges of the new cycle. Li Xiang once emphasized that "embodied intelligence" is the core capability of Li Auto for the next ten years, and the implementation of automotive robots will open up a new market opportunity worth trillions of yuan.
