At the recent SAS Innovate conference, analytics software giant SAS announced a series of governance tools for Agentic AI. These tools aim to help companies build transparent and secure automated environments, addressing compliance concerns and trust issues that enterprises face during AI implementation.
Building a Governance Foundation to Bridge from Experimentation to Production
SAS introduced a range of products, including Viya Copilot, the Agent Accelerator, and a governance solution called SAS AI Navigator, forming a comprehensive management framework. The company emphasized that AI governance should not be seen merely as a compliance burden, but rather as a foundation for business growth, allowing employees to explore the limits of AI within controlled and secure structures.
SAS AI Navigator, as the core SaaS solution, is scheduled to launch in the third quarter of 2026. It can compile an inventory of AI assets and automatically align complex AI use cases with government regulations and internal company policies, helping managers clearly monitor the status of all models and agents.
Focusing on Industry Applications and Pioneering Quantum AI
For vertical industries, SAS released a supply chain assistant and a marketing analytics agent, ensuring the reliability of automated decisions through pre-set "guardrails." These industry accelerators can simulate complex scenarios such as demand fluctuations and explain the logic behind decisions to human users, effectively bridging the gap between internal industry experts and AI technical talent.
In addition, SAS announced the establishment of a Quantum Lab in the fourth quarter of 2026, aiming to reduce the costs for enterprises exploring the integration of quantum computing and AI. Despite increasing automation, SAS continues to uphold the "human-AI collaboration" philosophy, believing that AI is merely an instrument, and its vitality ultimately depends on how humans play it.
