Recent industry reports indicate that storage chip giant SK Hynix is planning to introduce advanced third-party AI services such as Copilot and ChatGPT into its internal operations, aiming to comprehensively upgrade workflows through intelligent means.
SK Hynix CEO Kwak Noh-Jung revealed this strategic move during a recent internal meeting. He stated that the company is actively evaluating the feasibility of adopting Microsoft 365 with Copilot, while also conducting a careful assessment of generative AI tools like ChatGPT from core dimensions such as system architecture and information security.
For a semiconductor company highly dependent on technological R&D and precision manufacturing, data and technology protection are paramount. Therefore, SK Hynix has shown a cautious and orderly approach in its AI deployment. Kwak Noh-Jung emphasized that the company will follow a "gradual" strategy, initially testing third-party AI services in non-core technology areas, accumulating experience through small-scale applications, and gradually expanding to more critical business scenarios once the system is stable.
In fact, SK Hynix is not new to AI applications. Previously, the company had already built and operated an AI service system based on open-source technology. The consideration of introducing more diverse external platforms aims to provide employees with broader and deeper AI model support, thereby further releasing productivity and enhancing global competitiveness.
In today's storage market competition, technological leadership remains central, but the digital transformation of work efficiency is equally crucial for the long-term development of enterprises. This move by SK Hynix not only demonstrates its high emphasis on AI transformation but also reflects the industry trend of the semiconductor sector accelerating towards intelligent working models.
