ByteDance's AI chat assistant, Douyin, has officially launched the "Task Mode" feature. This upgrade marks its evolution from a single text interaction tool to an AI Agent (intelligent entity) capable of handling complex workflows. As an important expansion of Douyin's product functions, "Task Mode" focuses on multi-turn searches, deep reasoning, browser automation, and multimodal content generation.

In practice, this mode can proactively break down users' macro goals into multiple sub-tasks, then search online, call the browser to capture real-time information, and organize it in a structured way. Through this process, Douyin has broken the previous limitations of only text output, achieving automated generation of various complex content such as web pages, document reports, PPTs, and data tables.
Industry analysts point out that the launch of "Task Mode" and the exploration of a paid mechanism reflect the acceleration of domestic large model applications from "general entertainment conversations" to "high-value productivity tools." By deeply integrating into users' actual workflows, Douyin aims to build higher user stickiness in strong application scenarios such as office work and research. This move not only enriches ByteDance's commercialization path in the AI large model field but also indicates that the automation of complex, long-path tasks by front-end AI applications has become the core focus of current industry technological iteration and commercial competition.
