Artificial intelligence-driven travel platform Fora announced the completion of a $60 million Series D round, with the company's valuation reaching $1 billion, officially entering the unicorn enterprise category. This round was led by Forerunner and Tactile Ventures, with participation from institutions such as Insight Partners and Thrive Capital, bringing the company's total funding to $138.5 million.
Fora was established in 2021 as a platform that combines travel services with agency operations. On one hand, Fora provides users with infrastructure such as customer communication and travel planning, helping ordinary users easily become travel consultants. On the other hand, the platform also offers customized services for honeymoons, family trips, and more, covering popular destinations such as Costa Rica and Thailand, helping users find and connect with professional travel consultants.

After this round of financing, Fora plans to further expand the application scale of its AI assistant Via. Via can assist travel agents on the platform with repetitive administrative tasks such as market research and itinerary planning, helping agents reduce operational burdens and focus more on customer relationship maintenance. Fora emphasizes that the goal of artificial intelligence is to improve the efficiency of travel consultants, not to replace human services.
As of now, travel agents on the Fora platform have booked over $3 billion worth of travel products, with most agents having no prior experience in the travel consulting industry. In the future, the company plans to use the new funds to expand into more tourism business areas such as cruises and airline tickets, and to expand related teams.
As AI technology gradually enters the tourism service chain, from content recommendations, itinerary design to customer operations, artificial intelligence is driving traditional travel service models toward more intelligent and personalized directions. Fora's financing also shows that combining AI with vertical industries has become an important direction for startups to attract capital attention.
