Cloudflare officially launched its open-source AI agent workspace, Cloudflare OS, which runs in the browser and is embedded with a large number of customizable micro-applications that can be shared. This platform is not a simple encapsulation of general AI tools but was entirely developed by Cloudflare's own team based on their daily needs, and has been tested internally for a long time before being open-sourced for all enterprises to use. Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare, stated that for AI to truly bring transformation to enterprises, it should not be limited to isolated environments. Enterprises should empower every employee with the ability to securely build and automate workflows.

The core advantage of Cloudflare OS lies in capturing and accumulating internal knowledge from the very first day an enterprise starts using it. Employees without professional development backgrounds can create personalized micro-applications using the company's internal knowledge base, build workflows, and collaborate and share internally, effectively avoiding loss of context information. In response to the pain point of current enterprise AI tools being too generic and lacking specific knowledge, the platform allows each team to build intelligent applications that deeply understand their business logic, rather than relying on external standardized products.

Zero-trust architecture with built-in models, giving enterprises full control over data and costs

This framework is completely open source and runs on the enterprise's own Cloudflare account, allowing enterprises to have full control over all processes, context data, and system connections, effectively avoiding being locked into closed products. Relying on the technology of Cloudflare Access, the system defaults to a zero-trust architecture, rigorously verifying every access and request, matching the security and enterprise compliance requirements.

The platform also introduced the "bring-your-own-model" feature, allowing enterprises to connect to any AI model provider through Cloudflare AI Gateway. Administrators can accurately monitor token usage and cost expenditures, and view detailed expenses by personnel, teams, and applications. Administrators can set budgets and speed limits or flexibly distribute requests based on task complexity, such as assigning routine tasks to small and efficient models, and calling cutting-edge large models when high-level reasoning is needed. Prince added that the development of Cloudflare OS was due to the lack of similar products on the market that met their needs, and now all enterprises can directly use this well-refined result after years of polishing.
