Tencent WorkBuddy announced on September 14 the upgrade of its PPT generation capabilities, which focus on "one sentence to generate a draft, continue editing from the original file, and not redo the entire presentation." Users can directly say "help me generate a PPT" in the chat box, or click on "Slide" above the input box to start the creation process; when the PPT-related skill is installed, users can also input "/tencent-pptx" to call it.
After the upgrade, you can start even without complete materials: just provide the topic and number of pages, and the system will first ask about the audience, scenario, and goal, then build the main structure of "problem - argument - conclusion - implementation"; if you upload a research report, PDF, or Word document, it can compress long paragraphs, extract key conclusions, convert suitable data into charts, and generate speaking notes; if you submit a company or school template, it will retain the theme color, font hierarchy, and structure of cover, table of contents, and process pages, only replacing the content. If you like a reference PPT, you can also refer to its color scheme and layout as a whole or reuse the layout of a single page.
In terms of visual design, the new version enhances page layout, color coordination, chart matching, and consistency across multiple pages, and switches styles according to scenarios such as defense, pitch, government affairs, and technology reports. If the information is insufficient before content generation, it only asks necessary questions and does not reconfirm already clear parts to reduce rework.
The revision stage is the focus. WorkBuddy supports "human-machine dual writing," allowing users to select or框select titles, text boxes, images, and charts, and issue commands such as "split this slide into two," "convert table into chart," "rearrange according to the previous slide's style," or "write 30-second notes for each slide." Changing one part does not affect other slides. The output is a standard .pptx file that can be further edited in PowerPoint or WPS, or enter Tencent Docs for collaboration, comments, and multi-device modifications. The official stated that this feature is aimed at office scenarios such as starting from scratch, converting long texts into presentations, batch production of fixed templates, and refining presentations before delivery.
