The competition for computing power in the field of artificial intelligence is intensifying. According to information disclosed in the latest confidential IPO documents by Anthropic, the company has officially signed a large-scale computing power supply agreement with SpaceX. According to the terms of the agreement, Anthropic plans to pay up to $84.5 billion to SpaceX by 2029, in order to obtain powerful AI computing resources based on NVIDIA chips. It is worth noting that the agreement includes a flexible exit mechanism, with most clauses allowing termination through a 90-day notice. This newly disclosed amount significantly exceeds the scale of their earlier collaboration. Looking back at May this year, the two parties had first announced a computing power leasing partnership, with public information showing that Anthropic agreed to pay $1.25 billion per month, with a contract term of up to three years, totaling nearly $45 billion, which also included a 90-day cancellation clause. With the significant expansion of this agreement, it further reflects the intense demand of leading large model manufacturers for high-performance computing power.
