Step Terminal brought the concept of "the phone does the work itself" to the forefront. It announced that its first large model-native intelligent agent phone, STEPX Neo, will officially be unveiled at 7 PM on October 13th. This device is not equipped with a conventional system, but rather a native intelligent agent operating system called Step AOS, which has already passed the L3 level test of the first batch of national standards for the intelligent grading of AI terminals.
Different from traditional smartphones where AI is just an accessory, the STEPX Neo emphasizes the deep integration of large models with software and hardware. It houses a new generation personal intelligent agent called "Step Amoo," which can break down tasks and run processes based on a single instruction. The most impressive scenes in the official demonstration clearly show this: when a user says just one sentence, the phone automatically synchronizes documents and smoothly generates a presentation PPT; if there is an urgent need for a file, it can even directly call a delivery service to send the paper to the specified location - tasks that used to require personal handling are now taken over by the phone.
Photography is also one of its entry points. In the demonstration, when a user takes a photo of a concert poster, the phone can recognize the key information and then help handle ticketing, schedule arrangements, and even draft a leave application for you. Compared to traditional voice assistants that only look up information and open applications, the STEPX Neo focuses on cross-application task execution, effectively transforming the phone from a passive response of "you say, it does" into an active delivery of "you assign, it completes."
