On November 4, Perplexity officially launched its new "Teammates" feature, aiming to move personal AI agents from single tasks to complex, ongoing work management.

Following the launch of an assistant and Perplexity Computer in the Comet browser in July 2025, "Teammates" builds on Computer's multi-model and accuracy foundation. It can proactively monitor projects across business lines such as marketing, sales, customer support, and operations; coordinate across tools and teams; handle follow-ups; and remember project goals and shared files across multiple runs.

The feature has an isolated environment and access controls. It is first being rolled out on the web and will soon arrive on iOS, available to Perplexity Max subscribers. This move marks AI assistants shifting from passive tools to enterprise-grade operations agents that can autonomously plan, coordinate, and carry out execution, further driving AI's deep adoption in ongoing complex workflows.
