MeshUp is an advanced 3D mesh deformation technology that transforms source meshes into multiple target concepts while allowing intuitive control over the areas each concept expresses. This technology enables users to define concepts through text queries or images and to select any number of vertices on the mesh to identify local areas. MeshUp effectively manages the influence of concepts and blends them together through a novel scoring distillation method—Blended Score Distillation (BSD). BSD operates on each attention layer of a denoising U-Net, extracting and injecting activations for each target to calculate deformation gradients. Additionally, MeshUp creates a probabilistic Region of Interest (ROI), converting it into a 3D-consistent mask to control the expression of these activations. MeshUp surpasses existing text-to-3D generation models in several aspects, providing better triangulation and geometric detail, and is the first method to support local deformation capabilities.
