WeChat's newly launched AI search feature has attracted widespread attention due to allegations of leaking personal privacy. Recently, many netizens reported on social platforms that the feature can generate personal resumes with a single click through name hyperlinks, causing user concerns about privacy security.

According to user feedback, the controversy surrounding WeChat's AI search mainly focuses on its automatic identification mechanism. When users encounter names in WeChat official account articles, the system automatically converts the names into blue hyperlinks. Clicking on these links will force the AI system to generate a detailed information page containing personal resumes and display all related articles involving the name.

Several users who have experienced this feature confirmed that "it is indeed possible to find a lot of personal information based on a name". This passive information aggregation has made many users uncomfortable, as they believe it involves "forced exposure".

According to Tencent's official introduction, the WeChat AI search function achieves intelligent search capabilities by integrating mainstream large models such as DeepSeek and Hunyuan. This technical architecture enables the system to quickly integrate and analyze large amounts of text information, providing users with personalized search results.

However, it is precisely this powerful information integration capability that has raised user concerns about personal privacy protection. The AI system can associate and summarize name-related information scattered across different official account articles, forming a relatively complete personal information profile.

Facing user doubts, Tencent released an official response today, emphasizing that the design purpose of the WeChat AI search function is "to enrich the user search experience". Tencent clearly stated that the AI search function "only integrates public information from official accounts and other internet sources, and does not use user privacy information".

In the response, Tencent admitted to receiving relevant user feedback and promised "WeChat search will further optimize the user experience of AI search". However, the company did not reveal specific optimization measures or timelines.
