[AIbase Report] Google announced on Monday that its artificial intelligence assistant Gemini will soon be available on the Google TV platform, bringing a new natural language conversation experience to TV users. This move will expand Gemini's services to over 300 million active Google TV and other Android TV OS devices, greatly broadening its application scenarios.

The TV version of Gemini is not limited to entertainment, but also meets various household needs. Users can use Gemini to solve the problem of "what to watch", for example, helping family members with different interests to agree on a program they all like, or quickly sorting out the previous seasons they missed. When users forget the name of a movie, they can search using a vague description, or ask about the evaluation of a work to decide whether to watch it.

In addition to TV-related features, Gemini's powerful general capabilities are also retained. Users can ask it various questions, just like on a smartphone, such as:

  • Family Learning and Planning: Help children and parents with homework, brainstorm school project ideas, or plan family trips.

  • Personal Growth: Assist individual users in learning new skills.

Google emphasized that the introduction of Gemini will not replace the existing Google Assistant functions, and all existing commands can still be used normally. Gemini will be rolled out first on the TCL QM9K series TVs. Later this year, the feature will gradually be available on the Google TV streaming player, Walmart onn4K Pro TVs, as well as certain models of Hisense 2025 and TCL
