He stated that future shopping will be more "multimedia, personalized, and contextual," emphasizing that Walmart is committed to creating a more pleasant and convenient shopping environment for customers. Although Walmart has not revealed when consumers can start purchasing products directly through ChatGPT, this innovation is sure to attract widespread attention.

Previously, OpenAI announced the launch of an instant checkout feature in late September, allowing shoppers to shop through the Walmart platform. This feature will initially support users purchasing single items from platforms such as Etsy. OpenAI also mentioned that over a million Shopify merchants, including brands like Skims and Glossier, will soon join. This instant checkout feature is one of the new revenue tools launched by OpenAI, aimed at charging related fees through transactions via ChatGPT.

In addition to the collaboration with OpenAI, Walmart has integrated an AI shopping assistant called Sparky into its own app, further enhancing the customer shopping experience.
