Entrepreneurs from Lithuania, the Nexos.ai team, recently announced a €30 million (approximately $35 million) Series A funding round, led jointly by Index Ventures and Evantic Capital. Nexos.ai is a startup dedicated to helping businesses safely adopt artificial intelligence (AI) tools. Shortly after its establishment, it gained widespread attention and investment.

Investment, financing, money

The founders of Nexos.ai, Tomas Okmanas and Eimantas Sabaliauskas, believe that the biggest risk of data breaches for enterprises today comes from employees uploading sensitive information when using large language models (LLMs). Instead of banning AI, they hope Nexos.ai can become a "Switzerland" for LLMs, providing a neutral intermediary platform for enterprises to help them improve productivity while controlling data security.

Nexos.ai's core products include an AI workspace interface and an AI gateway, which provides a control layer for developers with secure, cost management, and compliance supervision, reducing the fragmentation issues enterprises face when using AI tools. This gateway currently connects to approximately 200 AI models and plans to increase support for private models in the future to protect sensitive data.

Currently, Nexos.ai conducts 50 to 60 demo calls per week, mainly targeting technology companies that already use AI daily and highly regulated industries with high governance requirements. Okmanas said that traditional enterprises still need to do a lot of preparation when reporting to their boards on how to adopt AI, and Nexos.ai is striving to simplify this process. Its clients include startups such as Payhawk from Lithuania.

As the company expands in Europe and North America, Nexos.ai hopes to further promote the widespread adoption of AI. Okmanas gave an example of the successful case of its parent company Tesonet, emphasizing the potential of AI assistants in reducing human support. He predicts that by its first anniversary, the team will grow to 100 people, primarily expanding business in Europe.
