On April 10, the Ministry of Education, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the National Data Administration jointly issued the "Action Plan for 'Artificial Intelligence + Education,' " officially announcing that the country will develop AI MOOC resources covering all academic stages. The initiative aims to build a national mechanism for cultivating AI literacy, ensuring all learners have equal access to artificial intelligence education.

This plan marks a new stage in the systematic advancement of AI talent development in China. In basic education, AI courses will be offered as required local subjects, focusing on intelligent thinking enlightenment and life empowerment; in higher education, AI will be fully integrated into the public foundational curriculum system, enhancing academic competitiveness by adding micro-majors and micro-certifications. In vocational education, the focus will be on the intelligent transformation of traditional industries, aiming to cultivate high-skilled talents suitable for industrial changes. In addition, the National Smart Education Platform will launch free AI general courses for the public, integrating cutting-edge technologies such as intelligent guidance, personalized path planning, and AI-based learning companions, using digital means to bridge the educational resource gap between urban and rural areas.
