Apple has released the watchOS 27 beta 3 test version to developers today. This new system introduces Siri AI and a brand-new Siri application for the first time. This means that Apple Watch users can now experience more intelligent voice interaction directly on their wrists, marking a significant upgrade for the product line.

After entering the AI era, the evolved Siri AI is now capable of understanding more complex voice commands and handling more complicated tasks. When users activate Siri on their watch, the app will appear directly in the center of the screen, used to answer various questions and execute corresponding commands.

Hardware Dependency and Experience Synchronization

It should be noted that the Siri AI on the Apple Watch does not run completely independently; it must rely on an iPhone supporting Apple Intelligence for data processing. Currently, few devices meet this hardware requirement, covering only the iPhone 15 Pro series, iPhone 16 series, and the latest iPhone 17 series.

However, in terms of ecosystem integration, Apple offers a seamless experience. All conversation records in the Siri app on the Apple Watch can be perfectly synchronized with the Siri app on other devices under the same account, such as iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Drastic Model Discontinuation

With the implementation of powerful AI features, watchOS 27 has also made the largest reduction in compatible models in Apple Watch history in a single year. Currently, only a few newer watch models support the update, including the Apple Watch SE 3, Series 9, Series 10, Series 11, as well as Ultra 2 and Ultra 3.

This means that many classic older models will be completely marginalized and will not be able to access the latest system. Models such as the Apple Watch Series 6, Series 7, Series 8, as well as the original Apple Watch Ultra and Apple Watch SE 2 are not included in the supported list.
