Elon Musk's brain-computer interface startup Neuralink has seen its valuation break through the $42 billion (approximately 284.4 billion Chinese yuan) threshold in recent secondary market private equity transactions. Compared to its valuation of $9 billion during a funding round last June, it has grown nearly four times. According to data from the private market firm Caplight, its equity transaction valuation has ranged between $29 billion and $42 billion in recent months, with some buyers even offering意向报价接近600亿美元.
Neuralink is currently focusing on the development and clinical application of its brain-computer interface system, aiming to help paralyzed patients control electronic devices through their thoughts and explore ways to restore vision. Although the company recently announced that only 21 participants worldwide are involved in clinical trials, the project remains in its early stages, and no official latest funding valuation has been publicly released (only the Oman Investment Authority announced a strategic investment in May this year), but the capital market still shows strong willingness to invest.
This sharp valuation increase reflects investors' premium enthusiasm for Musk's technology assets. With SpaceX completing a record-breaking $85.7 billion IPO in June this year (its market value once reached $1.63 trillion), Musk's cross-company integration and capital return capabilities have been further validated. Although there is still debate over the reasonable pricing of Neuralink, both the primary and secondary markets remain highly attentive to its future strategic layout, as brain-computer interface technology is rapidly moving from the laboratory frontier into a capital restructuring phase of high-end medical equipment and human-machine interaction platforms.
