Google has officially entered the generative creative design field, launching a new image generation and editing tool called Google Pics. This tool, part of the Google Workspace office suite, is directly targeted at enterprise customers and advanced users who have subscribed to Google AI Pro or Ultra.

Technically, Google Pics is built on Google's self-developed Nano Banana image generation and editing model. Unlike Canva, which relies on a community of creators and market templates for its business ecosystem, or Adobe Express, which focuses on manual pixel-level design from scratch, Google Pics uses a completely natural language prompt-driven generation logic, mainly applied in the rapid creation of posters, social media images, and various daily visual illustrations.

In terms of specific feature development, the tool integrates refined editing capabilities such as local object isolation and transformation, text modification within images, and multilingual translation, while also supporting version selection and real-time team collaboration editing.

In terms of ecological layout, Google Pics has been integrated with Google Docs and Google Slides starting today, and will later expand to Google Drive
