Non-linguistic artificial intelligence model Jev developer TypeSafe AI announced in October 2026 the completion of an $870 million Series A funding round A-round, with the company's valuation surging to $7.5 billion. The round was led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Sequoia Capital and early investor DCVC, and Andreessen Horowitz general partner Martin Casado will join the company's board.

TypeSafe AI was co-founded in 2024 by former Meta research engineer Sasha Sheng and entrepreneur Erik Gafni, with former OpenAI researcher Diogo Almeida also joining. Its flagship product Jev was officially launched on September 15, achieving explosive growth within a few weeks, according to the company, with one-third of Fortune 500 companies already adopting it.

In terms of technology, Jev is built upon the Transformer architecture but completely abandons the traditional text output mode of large language models (LLMs), focusing instead on generating probabilities and "calibrated decisions." Compared to mainstream language models, this system shows significant advantages in speed and significantly reduces the consumption of computational tokens (Tokens), primarily targeting automation task scenarios.

This large-scale funding and rapid valuation growth indicate that industry capital is accelerating its focus toward non-text, machine-native decision models, reflecting the market's high recognition of technical approaches that break beyond traditional language generation boundaries and enhance vertical automation efficiency.
