Overseas revenue for Seedance, ByteDance's video-generation model, has already reached 50%, and it has achieved nearly 5x growth in overseas markets over the past six months, making overseas markets a key battleground in its global expansion. In the domestic market, internet companies remain its core customers, with Tencent ranking among the top three customers in China and Bilibili breaking into the top ten.

The explosive growth of its overseas business was driven by a key breakthrough in copyright compliance. In August this year, ByteDance signed a global memorandum of understanding with the Motion Picture Association (MPA) and helped Disney and TikTok reach a global short-video content partnership, enabling creators to make derivative works using a library of 100 films in a compliant way. In terms of its product matrix, Seedance 2.0 is deeply embedded in TikTok, CapCut, and Dreamina, leveraging their massive traffic gateways to greatly reduce customer acquisition costs.

At the same time, customers from physical industries now account for more than a quarter, covering manufacturing, automotive, and other sectors. Volcano Engine is also using forward-deployed engineer teams to drive the model deeper into production environments. Currently, the global AI video-generation tool market is in a period of rapid expansion, and competitors such as Kuaishou's Kling are also accelerating their efforts to tap overseas markets. This progress shows that leading AI video models are rapidly moving away from purely competing for consumer entertainment traffic and evolving into production infrastructure that reaches deep into every industry.
