The guidelines emphasize the protection of non-public data security, urging teachers not to input students' assignments into generative AI systems to prevent data from being collected by third parties for AI training. The guidelines suggest that professors adopt three different approaches to using generative AI in their courses: maximum restriction policies, comprehensive encouragement policies, and a hybrid method.
