AIbase Report Recently, the large model community has been abuzz with a mysterious "Ji" (极) bug in DeepSeek V3.1. Several developers have discovered that when using the API for code development, the model's output randomly includes the character "Ji" (极), which has sparked widespread discussion and concern.

This issue was first discovered by developers on platforms such as Volc Engine and Chutes, and then quickly spread to more platforms, including Tencent's CodeBuddy, and even appeared in DeepSeek's own official services.

The incident has sparked heated discussions not only within domestic communities but also on overseas developer forums like Reddit. The words "extreme," "Ji" (极) in Simplified Chinese, and "Ji" (極) in Traditional Chinese have become the main targets of this bug. For programming scenarios that require high precision and structured output, this bug can be a "fatal blow," as developers may face compilation failures if they directly use the generated code without careful checking.

Currently, the root cause of the issue has been basically identified as the DeepSeek V3.1 model itself. According to the CodeBuddy team, they have contacted the DeepSeek team and received an official commitment that this issue will be fixed in the upcoming version update.
