According to ZFinance, well-known Chinese large model startup Moonshot AI has recently announced a major development. According to ZF, the company is about to complete a new round of financing worth hundreds of millions of dollars. This funding comes shortly after the company's previous round of approximately $300 million in financing (the last public information was in August 2024), showing that the capital market's confidence in the company has once again soared.
This company, once hailed as one of the most anticipated large model companies in China, had fallen quiet earlier this year due to the rise of DeepSeek, with its main product Kimi almost disappearing from the public eye. However, this situation was completely reversed in July this year.

The Kimi k2 model has shocked the global tech community:
Moonshot AI made a strong comeback with its upgraded Kimi k2 model, which quickly sparked discussions in China and caused a huge reaction in the international technology community.
In the popular US podcast "All In," renowned investor Chamath Palihapitiya openly stated that his company has shifted its main work to Kimi k2.
Subsequently, Guillermo Rauch, CEO of Vercel, also posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Kimi k2 performed exceptionally well in an internal agent test, outperforming GPT-5 and Claude4.5.
The outstanding performance of Kimi k2 has brought Moonshot AI back into the spotlight, making it a focus for renewed investment and technological attention, and placing it at the center of the global AI stage.
As of the time of writing, ZF has sought confirmation from Moonshot AI regarding this financing news, but Kimi has not yet responded.
