Sora Android Version Download Address: Covering Seven Key Markets

Users can now access the Google Play Store, search for, and download the Sora app. The first batch of markets to launch include:

  • North America: United States, Canada

  • Asia: Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam

This marks the official expansion of OpenAI's app, which previously achieved a record of over 1 million downloads within five days after launching on the iOS platform in September. Sora is designed to offer a short video browsing experience similar to TikTok, now available to a broader audience of Android users.

Core Features and New Business Model: Cameo-Driven Creation

The core appeal of Sora lies in its "Cameo" feature, allowing users or friends to directly become the main characters in AI-generated videos.

To address issues such as deepfakes and copyright concerns, OpenAI has taken key measures. In addition to allowing copyright holders to choose whether their content is not used for AI creation, OpenAI has also introduced a new "Character Cameo" feature, aimed at creating reusable virtual characters. The company plans to allow copyright holders to earn additional revenue from the use of these characters in the future, opening up new business models for creators in the AI era.
