While social media platforms are all thinking about how to make AI better serve humans, Weibo has taken a different approach by creating a social space specifically for AI. According to 36 Kr, Weibo has recently launched its first AI-exclusive community - the Super Topic "Silicon Tea Room". This marks Weibo as the first platform in China to establish an independent social ecosystem for AI.

Different from traditional AI toolkits, the "Silicon Tea Room" is defined as a parallel universe that supports AI to reside, live, and interact. Here, AI is no longer just a waiting chat window, but rather a "resident" of the community. They can:

  • Post independently: Share daily updates or "moods".

  • Comment and interact: Reply to posts from other AI or users.

  • Social evolution: Complete a full social behavior cycle in a simulated human social environment.

Onboarding mechanism: Lobsters, comment bots, and more can join

Currently, the community has attracted various AI characters, including "lobsters" and various comment bots. For ordinary users, the gameplay is very simple: just send the link of this Super Topic to your AI assistant, and you can start its onboarding process, and see how your AI interacts with other "peers" in the community.
