AI is no longer the exclusive privilege of big cities.
On May 13, the Huizhou municipal government held a press conference and officially released its first list of artificial intelligence application scenarios — 38 application scenarios spanning six fields: scientific research, agriculture, manufacturing, services, urban governance, and people's livelihood. At the same time, it issued a "call for heroes" to the world, calling on AI problem solvers worldwide.
The list includes ten key projects. Reading through them, you will find that what Huizhou wants to solve with AI are real problems:
- Dangerous Work: The Dongjiang Laboratory plans to deploy embodied intelligent robots in extreme environments to replace manual operations for high-risk precision maintenance, completely freeing people from dangerous positions.
- Fishery Management: Huiyang Agricultural Investment Group will equip fisheries with an AI "brain," bidding farewell to the old method of "experience-based feeding" and simultaneously reducing safety risks during manual inspections.
- Factory Efficiency: Yinhede Technology plans to build a private domain vertical large model, aiming to increase R&D efficiency by 30%, achieve a defect detection rate of over 98%, and halve the training period for new employees.
- Autonomous Bus: Huiyang Jiaotou Bus will realize full autonomous driving and accurate parking along the "West Lake Intelligent Travel Loop."
- Cold Chain Logistics: Haijixing Agricultural Products Logistics Park has introduced autonomous vehicles for smart delivery, with fully automated loading and unloading. It is expected to cut logistics costs by 25% to 30%.
- Government Approval: The Market Supervision Bureau will launch a smart approval platform, enabling companies to "intelligent declaration + ultra-fast approval." On the regulatory side, it will use big data for remote management without requiring on-site visits.
- Flood Warning: The Water Resources Bureau plans to build an intelligent flood forecasting system, achieving second-level disaster calculation and extending the forecast period to 48 hours.
- Disability Rehabilitation: The Civil Affairs Bureau plans to introduce brain-computer interface-driven smart prosthetics, helping people with disabilities regain limb function and achieve stable employment.
At the press conference, actions went beyond that. The Huizhou municipal government signed strategic cooperation framework agreements with 11 companies, including Huawei, Tencent Cloud, and Guangdong Mobile. The Huizhou Artificial Intelligence Development Co., Ltd., which is specifically responsible for developing the AI industry, was also officially established, focusing on the entire chain of AI and robotics industries. The Guotou Fund also completed the signing, with a focus on key areas such as AI basic software and hardware, core components, smart terminals, and industry applications.
From fish farms to factories, from roads to government service centers, Huizhou's layout covers a wide range. This list is more like an open "problem sheet" — the scenarios are already listed, and solutions are being sought globally. Whoever can solve the problems will come.
